Unexpected Lessons and Laughter

                Unexpected Lessons and Laughter

When I first heard about the immersion program, I’ll admit, I wasn’t excited. I thought it would be boring, and I wasn’t sure how I’d get along with people from other strands. I imagined just doing some mundane tasks, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything memorable. Little did I know, this immersion would turn out to be one of the most unforgettable week of my life.

Instead of worrying about school activities or assignments, my mind was consumed with the tasks at hand, how we would finish all the work we had, like creating tons of badaritas and cleaning the event hall, function hall, bedrooms, and bathrooms. We were constantly working, but there was something so fulfilling about it. Even when we made mistakes, we were told gently, and we learned from them. It wasn’t just about doing the work, it was about learning how things really function behind the scenes in an HRM setting.

There were challenges, exhaustion, endless tasks, and even an accident involving one of my teammates. But despite these challenges, I realized how much I grew from the experience. We learned to work together as a team, and we were able to push through the tough moments. I’m so thankful for the people I was with because they made the whole experience enjoyable. By the end of it, I didn’t want it to end. It was such a fun, rewarding week, and I never expected I would feel this way about something I thought would be boring.
